When did Sun-Times Media Group become a public company?
The Company held its initial public offering on the NASDAQ in 1995. At that time, the Company was called American Publishing Company. In July 1996, the Company was renamed Hollinger International and its stock was listed on the NYSE under the ticker symbol HLR. In July, 2006 the company was renamed Sun-Times Media Group, Inc. and changed its ticker symbol to SVN. It moved to the OTCBB on June 17, 2008 under the ticker symbol SUTM.OB. As of January 6, 2008, it was quoted on the Pink Sheets under the ticker symbol SUTM.PK. After filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on March 31, 2009, the Company's ticker changed to SUTMQ and still trades on the Pink Sheets.
On January 2, 2009, the Company filed a Form 15 with the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") to voluntarily deregister its Class A Common Stock and ending its reporting obligations under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (the "Exchange Act").
