Sun-Times News Group Enters into Printing Agreement with Journal Communications

Publisher of Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to Print 39 Pioneer Press Newspapers

CHICAGO, Sep 21, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Sun-Times Media Group, Inc. (Pink Sheets: SUTMQ), announced today that the Sun-Times News Group, its principal operating subsidiary, has signed a definitive three-year agreement with Journal Sentinel, Inc., to print its 39 Pioneer Press Publications and The Doings newspapers. The publications had been printed at the Company's Northfield printing plant, which the Company has previously disclosed it is shutting down. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"This agreement with Journal Sentinel allows Pioneer Press to better serve our advertisers and our readers with modern equipment and more color and other quality opportunities, while generating significant savings for the Sun-Times News Group," said John Barron, Publisher, Pioneer Press Publications. Journal Sentinel will publish the following Pioneer titles, with no disruption of service to Pioneer advertisers or readers:
